The London based two-piece are yet to release an album, due to liking the freedom and power of putting out singles; they currently have 6 songs released. Wargasm's singles have all shown a similar characteristic of being brimmed with energy, and powered by anger. Milkie Way and Sam Matlock create 'angry music for sad people', and this intention couldn't be more emphasised in their latest single,'Rage All Over'.
A part of the duo's outlook is to bring fun, and chaos back into the rock scene, moreover, not to take everything so seriously as many artists do.
Wargasm was formed after Sam Matlock's previous band parted ways, and the guitarist began looking for someone to pair his passion for a 'multi-gender project'. After becoming connected with Milkie, who he had been previously aware of, due to her position as a music photographer- Girl In The Pit, Wargasm was birthed. Wargasm combines a riot grrrl sound, with nu metal: the mashup couldn't have worked any better for the duo.
Wargasm have developed a distinct sound, bringing the fun and chaotic side of the rock scene back. Although the duo's main concern is creating music that turns the heat up on the enjoyment and, ultimatley, makes the room go 'mental', Wargasm certainly has a more serious side. The two piece have shown themselves to be very politically and socially conscious. They're songs range from pop culture references, to the mass social disconnection the world is facing due to technology.
In terms of live shows, Wargasm's main concern is that young female fans are able to let loose and have fun. This speaks highly of the duo's social consciousness. They currently have two upcoming, socially-distanced shows in London planned for the 12th and 13th of December. Furthermore, are set to play at multiple festivals next year, including: Download, Slam Dunk, Trees, and Burn It Down.
Hopefully, we will be able to witness a Wargasm riot for ourselves next year, at Slam Dunk! But for now, the new single, 'Rage All Over', will definitely suffice.
