Pale Waves have revealed that their second album, 'Who Am I?' will be released on February 12th 2021. This album comes after their debut album 'My Mind Makes Noises', released in 2018.
The group have been teasing the release of their latest single, 'Change', on their social media, for a while now- with the statement 'change is coming'. The single was released yesterday, and is set to be included on the 11 track album that will be here early next year.
'Change' has a very nostalgic feel to it, with the opening lyrics 'I remember it like it was yesterday'. The entire track suggests a serious Avril Lavigne influence, especially, with the chorus- 'I keep wishing you would change, change. It's no surprise you're still the same, same', which takes us back to Avril's song: 'Complicated', from her iconic, debut album. The more stripped back style gives off Taylor Swift attributes, working perfectly with Heather's voice.
In a recent Instagram post, Heather provided her fans with an immensley personal insight into the album, saying that: 'It's my self-confessed journey for the past year, collecting the pieces of myself I lost and parts I still need to find'. She went on to express her gratitude for the fans of the band, whilst adding that 'this album is for everyone that is still finding themselves'.
The single was teamed with a, beautifully, fitting music video, opening with Heather lying down playing her acoustic guitar, surrounded by flowers. It could not have fitted the stripped back style more.
