The up and coming band released their first single 'Broken Faces' on the 4th of November. The killer track shows huge potential for this brand new band, and they are definitely a group to look out for.
Apava posted their first Instagram post, at the beginning of October, introducing the band with an incredible teaser of the debut single- with the teaser being created by The Plague Lab. The snippet of the song with the statement 'Dropping soon...', was enough to get us very interested.
With the single dropping last week, the band originally said that their first EP would be on it's way soon. However, ALTESCAPE_ have spoken directly to one of the band's vocalists, and he says 'that there might not be an EP after all but single songs and much more'. Either way the hardcore/metalcore band have definitely got more, new music on the way, and it's coming very soon.
The lead vocalist, Dominik Zischka, gave us an insight into the influences for the band, and it's safe to say Apava have developed a distinct metal style, with inspiration from bands such as: Sworn In, The Gloom In The Corner, Alpha Wolf, and my personal favourite, Dealer.
Interviewing Dominik gave us a deeper knowledge of the hardcore group. Unbelievably, Apava have only been together since early October 2020, and have already released a, promising, debut single. The two vocalists of the group, Dominik and Christoph Polke, are currently based in Munich, Germany, with the lead guitarist, Jared Brezina, being based in the Czech Republic. Apava met via social media- WhatsApp and Facebook- and have frequent meetings to develop their music.
'Broken Faces' displays heavy, powerful guitar riffs, paired with deep vocal growls, harsh screams, and suitably fitting clean vocals, creating a good vocal contrast. Luckily, Dominik has warned us that new music is coming in the near future, he says 'we are already working on all kinds of stuff, including the first album', he also added that 'the album will be much harder, but with cleans too'. If Apava's debut album is anything like their first single, the band will be getting very big, very soon!
We look forward to seeing the band progress, and feel lucky to have interviewed the lead vocalist of this upcoming band, breaking into the metalcore scene.
